Activity #4 and #5
While I really like the idea that I can actually put videos on YouTube, this was a bit time consuming for me, mostly due to faulty, old, home equipment. I spent some time with Screenr and Screen-o-matic first. They were very easy to use. However, the sound did not work for me (broken microphone, frozen laptops... etc.) I also attempted some screencasting apps on my Ipad. They did not work for what I wanted to do though. So, I ended up going to the Lab to use the Smart Notebook approach. With help from Emily (THANKS!), I was able to produce a video! Woo hoo! Initially, I struggled with what I would screencast for the LC. After doing this (and talking with Emily), I can see a lot of potential uses (outside of school as well!). The video I made is designed to help staff be able to do referrals online... as that day is fast approaching! I am eager for feedback so I can make it more effective. Making a YouTube account was very easy as well. The screenshots were especially helpful. I see now why so many videos are on YouTube!

I think your screencast turned out great! I had a quick training on this at EW last year, but I think it works better as a video like this, so teachers can refer to it whenever we need a refresher. You gave a clear explanation of the form and how to fill it out. (But it looks like poor Cindy and Kelly have a history of disruptive behavior together!) :)
